The Kurashiki Bikan Historical Area
Located in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture in western Japan. Kurashiki flourished as a distribution base for goods transported along the Kurashiki River during the Edo period (1603-1869). The Kurashiki River flows through the center of the city, and even today, storehouses- where rice, cotton, and other goods that were stored there remain along its banks. The area has been selected as a Preservation District for Group of Historic Building by the Agency for Cultural Affairs.

Tottori Flower Park
This is Japan's largest floral theme park, and boasts an area of 50 hectares at the base of Mt. Daisen. Visitors can enjoy viewing flowers and plants throughout the four seasons. On a clear day, the view of Mt. Daisen is spectacular - a must see for nature lovers. The Moonlight flower garden is lit up on weekends from May 21st to June 19th.
Yonago Gaina Festival July 30th to 31st

Yamaguchi Prefecture

Akiyoshi-dai Plateau / Akiyoshi-do Cavern:
Located in Akiyoshi-dai Quasi-National Park, Akiyoshi-dai is the largest Karst plateau in Japan."Akiyoshi-do" is a limestone cavern located a hundred meters underground and opens on the south foot of Akiyoshi-dai Plateau.

Shimane Prefecture

The celebration of the 400th anniversary of the completion of Matsue Castle
It will resume with stage events beginning April 29th. Towering above the city's newer, northern part is Matsue castle, which was built in 1611, and has become the city's best-known symbol.
KIzumo Shrine Grand Festival May 14th 16th
Izumo Shrine is one of the most ancient and important Shinto shrines in Japan. There are festivals in Izumo, and one of one of the most important festivals in the shrine itself is the Imperial Festival, held on May 14th. Following the Imperial Festival is the Grand Festival on May 14th and 15th.

HiroshimaPeace Memorial, World Cultural Heritage Site
The Atomic Bomb Dome was registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site in December 1996, and its annual Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony is held on August 6th.
Hiroshima Prefecture’s cultural World Heritage Sites Miyajima and Itsukushima shrine.
The Otorii (lacquer coated gate) of Itsukushima Shrine is lit up from sundown until 11 p.m., but entry into the shrine during those hours is not allowed.
